Carboxytherapy
What is carboxytherapy?
Carboxytherapy is a minimally invasive treatment used in medicine and cosmetology, in which carbon dioxide (CO₂) is injected into the tissues beneath the skin. The procedure may be used for various conditions, including joint problems, circulatory disorders affecting the lower limbs, and impaired blood supply to the skin in people with diabetes. It may also be considered for certain vascular and cardiovascular conditions, following medical assessment.
How does carboxytherapy work?
The presence of carbon dioxide in the tissues may help dilate local blood vessels, improve circulation and increase oxygen delivery to the treated area. The treatment may relieve pain and support tissue regeneration. As a minimally invasive procedure, it generally places little strain on the body and may also support recovery when medically indicated. The results depend on the individual's condition, the nature of the symptoms and the number of treatments.
