The hotel is solid overall. The building is clearly old, but the renovation was done decently — the bathrooms are clean and nice. However, the shower was leaking slightly, and water was spilling underneath the shower cabin.
Another issue is with the TVs. Although they are new and modern, they offer almost no useful content. You can’t connect your phone, there’s no Netflix or proper internet access, and they’re locked with hotel software showing only Hungarian channels — which means absolutely nothing to any international guest. With today’s entertainment standards and the technology you already have, you could offer much more.
The Wi-Fi connection is also unstable; our devices kept disconnecting frequently, so that’s another area that needs improvement.
The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, but the F&B staff were noticeably less so — not impolite, but definitely lacking warmth or a smile.
As for the food, I’d rate it 7 out of 10. It’s varied, but not enough care goes into preparation. The scrambled eggs were dry and hard, as if made from powder instead of real eggs. There were no fried eggs available either. The grilled vegetables could be cut and cooked much better. With the same ingredients and cost, the kitchen could easily achieve far better results.
The honey and honeycomb were fine, but there was no spreadable honey — just small, almost useless portions in little sachets. Minor detail, but it adds up.
Other than that, everything else was fine. The location is fantastic, the island is beautiful, and the hotel itself is generally okay — it just needs more attention to detail and a bit more care to reach its
full potential.
