Folklore Festival

Since 1981, the international folklore days at Nádasdy Castle has drawn huge crowds. National and international folk-dancing groups and ensembles perform at this festival. The event is themed around the motto “we build bridges, from person to person, from nation to nation” and offers an extensive programme each year.

Nádasdy Historical Festival

Immerse yourself in the goings-on of a medieval town in July. See story-tellers, fortune tellers, wandering singers, fire-eaters and jugglers. Be sure not to miss the siege re-enactment, where the castle is heroically defended against the overpowering Ottomans with a lot of sabre-rattling and thunderous cannon fire. The courtyard turns into a medieval marketplace during the festival with Hungarian folk and world music along with traditional dishes.
