UV Phototherapy
What is UV Phototherapy
This form of ultraviolet light application may employ various parts of the UV spectrum, namely UVA (320-400 nm) and UVB (290-320 nm), e.g. a very precise wavelength of UVB 311 nm, which is most effective for the treatment of psoriasis and other skin diseases. The treatment uses UV tubes with a photoluminescence layer, which emit the desired wavelength.
How UV Phototherapy helps
The UV light suppresses the fast growth of skin (the main problem in psoriasis) as well as inflammation, and it modulates the inborn immune mechanisms, thus promoting skin healing. It also enhances the production of vitamin D in the skin, which is necessary for the good condition of the bones.
