Stepping Bath

What is a stepping bath

More active than the alternating temperature bath, this treatment requires you to walk alternately in two footbaths that are filled with water of contrasting temperatures up to the mid-calf level. First you walk into a footbath of hot water between 40-42°C, actively stepping for one to two minutes while holding onto a handle. Then you cross over into a cold water footbath at the temperature between 10-16°C, again actively stepping for 15-30 seconds. This whole cycle is repeated 6 - 10 times, always finishing in the cold footbath.

How a stepping bath helps

Such vigorous activity has a positive impact on headaches, migraines, circulation disorders (cold feet) and early-stage varicose veins. It also helps improve the condition of the ankle ligaments and leg joints, and it is an appropriate rehabilitation after injuries to the feet and lower limbs.
